question deleted without violation mail?
i checked the question just this morning, here was the question:
“how to make some money online” it was an innocent question about how i could make a small amount of money online through a website by reading emails/posting on forums, etc.
I checked it this morning and picked a best answer. A few hours later i checked back and suddenly it said the question had been deleted. i checked in my yahoo mail and there was no notification whatsoever, not a clue as to why my question was deleted when i am 100% sure i did not delete a question because i would never delete a question for no reason.
i carefully double checked my inbox and then checked it many more times after that and there was no violation notice. Is it possible for a question to be deleted without the user’s consent and without the cause being a violation of rules?
btw my spam is empty and so is the trash.
Questions are removed for reasons other than being violations.
1. If a question gets no responses after 4 days and the asker does not extend the question, it gets deleted – does not apply to you
2. If the question goes to voting and “no best answer” is selected, it gets deleted – also does not apply to you
3. If the chosen best answer (does not matter if it was chosen by the asker or by vote) is reported as a violation, the question AND the answer get deleted.
4. And of course, if your question was reported by 1 or more trusted reporters for violating the terms of service or the community guidelines, it gets deleted. In this instance only, you will get an email, and you will lose points.
If you have not gotten a violation email (check your spam folder), it was deleted for one of the first three reasons.
If you HAVE received a violation email, it will contain the directions for appealing.
If THIS question gets removed, I would guess that you have a “stalker”, as there is nothing that violates community guidelines or the terms of service in this question. A troll or stalker should not be your first thought – many times there are other reasons questions get removed!
I am guessing that either the answer you chose as best was reported as a violation, or that the email is in your spam folder.
