Your first action towards Internet Marketing?
So what was yours before you learned what you know now? Did you go to school, research online, have a mentor? What do you do now online to make money by marketing? google, affiliate marketing….etc? Just curious because I am very interested in Internet Marketing…Thanks and have a good night.

We’ve been at it for 4 years now and wish we had been smart enough to ask a question like that. It helps if you can afford a mentor – and some of the larger “super affiliates” do offer mentoring for a price. Derek Gehl and Rosalind Gardner are 2 of the best on the market. for that.
We have 2 businesses. http://www.1-800badcredit.com and http://www.thestopsmokingsource.com. Both websites are affiliate sites and the smoking one is less than 2 weeks old.
We started out 4 years ago attempting to “sell” stuff. We landed on paintball guns and airsoft guns and set up a store. But the profit margins were small, the web hosting fees (for having a shopping cart and checkout system), and the bank fees for taking credit cards were killing us.
Then we started an eBay store and got pretty good returns on that. But the eBay fees and Pay Pal fees were very high. eBay charges you $50 a month for a basic store and then a fee for every item you “list” in your store. The listing fee doesn’t sound like much when you read it on their site, but when you have to renew each item that doesn’t sell every 30 days, it adds up! Plus the selling fees, etc.
After a year and a half we gave that up. We discovered Rosalind Gardner’s book and ran with it. We now have 2 affiliate sites earning a small income and growing. We’re going to try and add about 10 more sites next year (the secret is in volume).
